Beef Teriyaki with bean sprouts

I'm sorry for the poor quality picture. I think I forgot to turn on the camera flash when I took a picture. Anyway, I cooked beef teriyaki and sauteed bean sprouts for dinner. It's so easy! Wanna know how I did this very simple meal? Here's how:

Ingredients:

Kikoman Teriyaki Marinade and Sauce
Beef sirloin, sliced
Sugar
Sesame seeds, toasted
Bean Sprouts
Garlic. minced
Onion, sliced
Salt to tase

Procedure:

Marinate the beef with Kikoman Teriyaki Marinade ad Sauce mixed with sugar for at least 4 hours or longer. Taste the marinade mix first before mixing with beef to make sure you reached your desired sweetness.

Fry a pan and put a little oil and cook the marinated beef. Sprinkle cooked beef with sesame seeds.

Saute garlic and onion. Add bean sprouts let it cook. Put some salt to taste. You may also add cabbage and carrots if you want.

The excess marinade may be used as a sauce. Mix the teriyaki marinade with little water and corn starch then let it boil in a pan.

Chicken with spinach, zucchini and mushroom pasta

This afternoon, I cooked this very easy pasta recipe for my dinner. I am trying so hard not to eat fried foods so I shopped for vegetables last week. The original plan was to make smoothies using different vegetables but there was something wrong with my blender so I ended up looking for recipes which I can use the veggies I bought and not waste them. The real recipe has white wine, dried oregano leave but I didn't have those so I made use of whatever is available in our kitchen. And it turned out pretty good especially for those who want to eat healthy.

Here's my recipe:

Spaghetti noodles or your choice of any pasta, cooked al dente
Boneless chicken breast, sliced and rubbed with salt and pepper
Handful of spinach leaves
Half of zucchini, sliced
Mushroom buttons, sliced
Italian Herbs seasoning. Maybe dried rosemary and thyme will also do.
Salt and Pepper
Garlic and Onions
Olive Oil
Parmesan Cheese

Procedure:

Cook pasta according to package directions.

Saute garlic and onions. Add chicken and cook until brown. Add mushroom, spinach and zucchini, cook for about 4 minutes. Add some herb seasoning, salt and pepper. Toss cooked pasta to combine. Serve with parmesan cheese.

Baking Day!

Today, me and my aunt made dinner roll and cream puff. We've been attending baking lessons for the last 3 weeks and though I am not really satisfied with the quality of training they give, I have learned quite a few things. It's a good thing that my mother gave me a Baking 101. It has made the training easier to do. I love baking. It has this magic that transforms flour, butter and eggs into something totally different like cakes and cupcakes. :) One of these days, I will practice more new recipes. :)

I love Pancake House!

I drove to Subic this afternoon with my mother, aunt, cousin and niece just to eat at Pancake House. How I love their pancakes and waffles! Even my niece loved it she ate one whole waffle! I'm not really a pancake person but there's something in their pancakes that make it so good to eat. If not with carbs, sugar and calories, I'll have their pancakes everyday.

Waffles. It was supposed to be peach waffles but Bella didn't like peaches so I had it separated.

Chicken Savory Marquee Mall

Yesterday, December 29, 2012, we (parents, niece, aunt, cousins and I) went to Marquee Mall in Angeles, Pampanga just to catch the dancing fountain they saw last year during the holiday season. When we got there, it was time for dinner and the dancing fountain wasn't there. Instead, there were performers, huge lanterns and fireworks display. We had dinner at Chicken Savory because I heard the chicken they serve is really good and it was my first time to eat at that restaurant. When we were about to take a seat I asked the manager about their promo as I saw it on the table - minimum single receipt of Php1000 using BDO card will have free dish. We ordered food and my father asked again about the promo. The crew who was taking our order mentioned about the promo if our bill will be paid cash. Again, minimum single receipt of P1000 with SM advantage card will get free pancit canton. I gladly told the crew that we'll take the promo since my aunt has her SM advantage card. Much to our surprise, when my mother mentioned the senior citizen card, we were informed that we cannot avail the promo if my parents will use their senior citizen card. They said we cannot avail 2 promos in one transaction so I corrected them by telling that SENIOR CITIZEN DISCOUNT is not a promo but a privilege. I said we won't take the promo anymore. Food was served. We finished dinner. My mother again asked if she insisted on having her and my father's food to be billed separately, will they allow us to avail the promo since we are sure we are spending more than P1000 on our food excluding my parents'. In that way, they could use their SC card and we could avail the promo. They said NO. And here are there stupid reasons:

1. They insisted - two promos (SCD and free dish) can't be avail in one transaction. Really stupid.

2. If seated in one table altogether, food ordered can't be billed separately even payments will come from two different person. Really, what's the logic?

Here are what I have to say on their stupid SCD, promo and billing guidelines:
1. Again, SCD is not a promo, it's a privilege.

2. They are misleading their customers. Sure, people would be delighted to know they can avail the promo but little did they know that they are being manipulated by not allowing them to use SCD (for those qualified) at the same time of availing promo because the restaurant will take advantage of the customers who is not aware of the truth.

3. They have the most stupid promo and billing guidelines. It doesn't make sense that if seated in one table, they can't be billed separately. This is just annoying.

4. They have to review their promo rules and inform the customers.

This food establishment does not know how to treat customers properly. They have such a poor service.

Everybody's Cafe

Everybody's Cafe is an old restaurant located in San Fernando, Pampanga along McArthur Hi-way. My mother has childhood memories in the said restaurant and when it was featured in a tv show just couple of days ago, she wanted to it in the restaurant. I have never tried a Kapampangan restaurant so why not give it a try. For lunch, we went there. And I am not impressed with the food. Really, it's over rated. Foods are pricey for the amount of serving and its taste. Nothing extraordinary except that I got to eat palakang bukid (frogs that are caught in farms). Everything else can be found anywhere or cooked in our home, might taste even better.

Birthday lunch with family

We (parents, me, aunt,  cousins and Bella) went to Subic this morning for lunch. We ate at Meat Plus wherein foods are good and reasonably priced. I love their baby back ribs and apple pie. We do not have much pictures except for the foods we ordered. Yeah, I'm a 27 year old piggy.

Dinner at Subic

This post is long over due. Didn't have time to post pictures. Last July 13, 2012, my relatives decided to bring my grandmother, Tita Luz at Subic for dinner at Espresso Cafe. And we ate a lot! Our family really love good food. :)
